Earth Day Story Hour

Join us on Wednesday, April 26th from 4:15pm – 5:15pm for an Earth Day story hour! We will be reading a The Frightened Frog: An Environmental Tale with the Southbridge Garden Club and working on creating our own frog habitats by painting terra cotta pots. This story hour is for children ages 5-10 and limited to 12 participants. Sign up at the library or by contacting us!

Ukelele Edu-Concert

Ukuleles

Join us for a Ukelele Workshop at the library on April 11th from 6-7pm. You can bring a ukulele or borrow one at the show. This show is for patrons aged 10 and older and is limited to 15 participants – call the Library at 245-3518 to reserve a spot or sign-up on Facebook.

You can play and sing along to pop, rock ’n’ roll, children’s songs & more and learn about ukulele types and playing techniques. This event is led by teacher/musician/comedian Dave M.

Easter Egg Story Hour

Easter eggsJoin us for a special Easter Egg decorating story hour with Bonnie on Wednesday, March 29th from 4:15pm – 5pm. This event is for children aged 3-10 and space is limited to 12 particpants. Sign-up is required to attend. Please call 245-3518 or sign-up on Facebook. ** Also, please let us know if your child has any allergies.**

Stone Soup Story Hour

Join us on Wednesday, February 22nd from 3pm – 4pm for a special ‘Stone Soup’ Story Hour! We will be reading the story and making stone soup to try. The stone, the pot and the both will be provided but we need each of you to bring an item to go into the soup– just like in the story! When signing up please let us know which vegetable(s) that you are going to bring. The items needed are listed below (some need to be cooked at home). We will also be making a craft. This story hour is for children aged 3-10 and space is limited to 12 participants.

List of items needed:

1 cup of cooked potatoes
1 cup of cooked or canned carrots
1 cup of cooked celery
1 cup of cooked broccoli
1 cup of diced onion
1 cup of corn (frozen or canned)
1 cup of peas (frozen or canned)
1 cup of diced or canned mushrooms
1 cup of diced or canned tomatoes
4 minced garlic cloves
Salt and pepper
1 box of Saltine crackers

(there are 12 items listed so please bring 2 items if you are signing up 2 children, 3 if you are bringing 3, etc.)

Join Bonnie for a special snow globe story hour on January 25th from 4:15pm – 5:15pm. This event is geared for children aged 3-9 and space is limited to 12 participants. You can sign-up on Facebook or at the library.

Adult Coloring Book Party

Join us for a relaxing evening of adult coloring on Thursday, January 26th from 6:00 – 7:30pm. Bring your own supplies or use the ones that the library has on hand. We’ll put on the coffee and bring some cookies too. Grab your best friend, take time out for YOU and come relax while coloring! Sign-up is required either on Facebook or in the library.

Gingerbread Story Hour

Join us for a Gingerbread Story Hour over winter break on Wednesday, December 28th from 2-3pm. We will be reading gingerbread books and decorating gingerbread cookies. This event is for ages 10 and under. Space is limited, so reserve a spot during your next visit to the library or contact us!

**There may be items processed in a plant that contains peanuts, wheat, and milk used during this event.**

Best Business Raffle

Local businesses have donated beautiful themed baskets and gift cards. Tickets are 1 for $1 or 7 for $5 and the drawing is being held on Saturday December 3rd.
