Award-winning pastel artist Gregory John Maichack returns to the Brimfield Public Library from 5:30 -7:30p.m. on Thursday, June 27th to present his new adult workshop entitled, “Sail Away on the Craft of Pastel Painting.” This fun pastel painting workshop is designed for patrons from beginners to experienced artists.

Participants will experiment with hundreds of the artist’s professional grade pastels, pastel pencils, and pastel paper. All materials will be provided, and everyone who attends will get to take home his/her artwork.

Maichack is an experienced professional at teaching pastel techniques, as recognized by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), and hundreds of libraries and local cultural councils.

Seating is limited, so registration is required. Call 413-245-3518 to sign-up. There is no charge to attend. This event is for participants aged 15 and older.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Brimfield Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Additional funding was also provided by the Friends of the Brimfield Public Library, Inc.

Come help us make the Children’s garden out front look beautiful for Memorial Day! On Wednesday, May 22nd from 4:15pm – 5:15pm, we will be reading a story and then getting dirty outside in the garden!! Make sure to wear play clothes. Get your drinking glass ready for St. Patrick’s Day! We’ll be painting glasses on Thursday, February 28th from 6pm – 8pm. Choose from different styles of glasses: Wine, stemless, pilsner, beer mug, mason jar mug, etc. Two glasses per person. Templates provided as well as all supplies, and step by step instruction. No experience necessary. Space is limited so call today (413-245-3518) to sign-up. We are not signing anyone up via Facebook. This is an Adult Only event. Join us for a Maggie the Clown Performance on Tuesday, February 19th from 4pm – 5:30pm! The performance will include: a make-up demo, a little magic and juggling, and some balloon twisting. The Friends of the Brimfield Public Library Best Business raffle is underway! Tickets are 1 for $1.00 or 7 for $5.00. The drawing is taking place on Saturday December 1st at noon. Winners need not be present.

Join us for a relaxing evening of adult coloring on Tuesday, October 16th from 6-7:30pm! Bring your own supplies or use the ones that the library has on hand.
